Review by Mike
I have never smoked Lemon Cake to my recollection, which of course doesn’t mean I have never tried it…I mean this stuff can affect your memory. The smell is just as the breeder describes; a citrus tone with a cheesy undertow. Bud structure is nice and it is well trimmed. I’m gonna say it in near every review, but I love my grinder. I picked a smallish bud. Ground it up, and now all the smells are amped up! I was born with a super sniffer and it can be a bad or at least annoying thing to have sometimes, but wow….it’s awesome when it comes to this part of the job. The cheesy smell is coming out more.
First hit and I get an instant elevation. I don’t love the taste, but rarely do I love outdoor. But it’s not bad, and the smoke is smooth. I just felt my energy move up, like I want to go start my evening walk RIGHT NOW. Hold on there cowboy, we still got some testing to do. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised I like this. I’m a big fan of Lava Cake and Wedding Cake, so we can add Lemon Cake to the list. 2nd hit was deeper and more slowly released. I get a flavor that is reminding me a bit of Cheese (the strain not cheddar). This is one of those strains where my mind feels charged.
My next couple hours were spent walking and/or talking. I finished the bowl before I headed out on my adventures. Had a couple of good conversations and came back here to finish up this review. All in all this was a very uplifting experience. I would say the effects are very much in line with most “very sativa” strains. I’m about 3 hours in since I started my bowl and 2 since I finished it and I still have a smile on my face
THC dominant Sativa strains such as Lemon Cake tend to act as more of a stimulant with a cerebral or “heady” high. Many patients have had great success treating symptons in the areas of appetite stimulation, relieving depression, migraines, chronic pain and nausea.
Some people, particualry those who have been diagnosed ADD or ADHD can have the Indica/Sativa scale flip on them. For many of these patients Indicas will provide the effect typical of Sativas. And this strain will actually induce Indica like effects. For those patients this strain would act in a more sedative or relaxant. For those patients this would be a good strain for treating the symptoms of medical conditions such as anxiety, chronic pain, insomnia, muscle spasms and tremors.
